Botswana is one of the last wilderness safari destinations left in Africa. Botswana is the most untouched and unspoilt place in Africa to find wildlife and land. Explore one of the few purely natural contrasts on the planet.
There are many different types of wild animals that can be spotted when on safari in Botswana. Some of these animals are elephants, wild dogs, owls, hippos and many, many more. Not all of the animals are big, there are also many different types of insect and reptiles to be seen.
The perfect time to go on a Botswana safari would be between May and October. This is due to the day time weather being cooler and the Okavango being flooded. There are also many different types of accommodation when travelling on safari in Botswana, such as camping, lodges and small hotel equivalents.
Botswana safari can be a walking safari, driving safari or even a flying safari. This is due to the open spaces and long walks between different parts of the various areas in which you will find animal habitats. If a safari is wanted at night, there are some safaris available during those twilight hours to see the nocturnal animals and their behaviour when they are awake.
When on safari there is always someone with you so there is no way for you to get lost or get approached by animals. If approached by a calm (and not so dangerous animal) the safari guide will allow you to stroke or feed it with specific food given by the guide.
Botswana safaris are perfect for both families and singles wanting to go on the trip of a lifetime. If and when travelling to South Africa on a safari, ensure you do a lot of saving up beforehand as they are not the cheapest of places to go to and stay at but it is an experience to remember!
